Yes, you can pay for college! We’ll show you how.
CFP is a program available to all Delaware public high schools that provides financial aid information, resources and direct assistance to high school juniors and seniors and their families as they navigate the world of financial aid for college.
Program Goals:
- Assist students and their families to successfully access federal and state funding for post-secondary education.
- Increase the number of high school seniors who complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Be competitive with other states for the percentage of students completing FAFSA
- Tangentially, increase the number of Delaware students pursuing post-secondary education.
Programs and Appointments Available
NOTE: All NexGen programs are currently offered through high schools, both in person and virtually. Check with your school counselor to find out when Stand by Me will be at your school. Delawareans can also access our “Public Events” via Zoom. Click on the event descriptions below to register to participate via Zoom. Programs are available in both English and Spanish.
FAFSA Completion Appointments
Stand by Me NexGen’s financial aid experts will help you to complete your FAFSA in a one-on-one setting via Zoom. Each appointment is 1 hour. You will receive a confirmation and a Zoom link for the date and time you choose.
Paying for College
This presentation delivered by NexGen financial aid experts teaches 12th grade students and families how to apply for financial aid for college, receive further information, such as time lines, required tax information and have individual questions addressed about the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as well as federal loan programs.
Scholarship Presentation
Students and their families learn from NexGen experts how to find and apply for scholarships for post-secondary education. The State of Delaware’s Scholarship Program and state and local college scholarship programs are highlighted.
Paying for College for Juniors
This presentation delivered by NexGen financial aid experts teaches parents and students about the ins and outs of financial aid for college, including the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and general scholarship and financial aid information to prepare them for their senior year of high school.
Choose Your Own Path! Post-Secondary Options
This workshop, appropriate for all grades, provides an overview of the various post-secondary options available to students after graduation from high school. Through this presentation, students and parents will be given information, action steps, and resources relating to both educational and work-based paths to career attainment. Time: 30-60 minutes.
